Cheiron ~ the Legend
The
centaur Cheiron, son of Cronos and the nymph Philyra, is
half human and half horse. He was known to be a great
healer and astrologer. He also was well versed in
divination. He was teacher and mentor of many of the Greek
heroes.
However,
he could not heal himself after being wounded by a poisoned
arrow and came to offer his immortality to Prometeus such
that he could escape from eternal agony. Zeus honored him
for this in the constellation of
Sagitarius.
The
Name Cheiron Wellness
Cheiron
observes health and disorder in relationship to our
(spiritual) journey through life. According to Cheiron,
health and disorder are our teachers on our path; beacons
that point the way to greater awareness,to greater
wholeness.
Healing
occurs as we gain understanding as to what is happening in
our life, and through comprehension, can direct our path
toward wellness and empowerment.
